Special meeting December 15, 2011 on Food storage techniques

Our October meeting with David Allen on emergency preparedness was a great hit, and David’s wife, Julie offered to give us a seminar on food storage techniques.  We will not have our regular meeting in December, since the library is closed that day, but we will have a special meeting on December 15, 2011 at 7 pm on food storage techniques.

Would you like to learn about canning, food drying, pickling, smoking, root cellars, fermenting, and other food storage techniques?  Would you like to learn how to prepare tasty meals from dried foods that store well, such as dried beans?  Do you know how to sprout alfalfa seeds to make a tasty and nutritious addition to sandwiches and salads?

We plan to cover all these topics and more at this special meeting.  If you have experience with any food storage techniques that you would like to share at the meeting, please contact Resa@Louisville912.com so we can get you a time slot on the agenda.
